In his book “The Manners and Customs of the Ancient Egyptians Volume 1” Egyptologist John Gardner Wilkinson who previously held the view that Egyptians were Caucasian, upon looking at Amenhotep III had no choice but to admit that Amenhotep was a Black man.
Wilkinson wrote: "The features of this monarch cannot fail to strike every one who examines the portraits of the Egyptian kings, having more in common with the negro than those of any other Pharaoh..."
