In politics, you either communicate EFFECTIVELY or your opponent will do it for you.

In politics, you either communicate EFFECTIVELY or your opponent will do it for you.

Let's take two examples...

1. The Mainstream media decided to give Ruto a total blackout...

I mean, they'd cover their candidate Raila for 20mins, give Ruto a few seconds mention (which was mostly negative) and then resume covering Raila for another 20 mins.

They insisted that was extremely FAIR coverage and ignored complaints, even from the Media Council.

Then Kenyans from all walks of life decided to step up and communicate the message of Ruto...

In their small ways (from individuals with less than 1k followers to those with millions of followers) people went to social media and communicated Daktari's message.

Wengine even using Okoa bundles!

The result?

The real message reached the masses and the Media's 5-year smear campaign ilianguka pakajichora kamtu.

Ruto was elected, because people eventually got to hear and understand his message.

See, the power of effective communication

2. Another example is the Deputy President, Riggy G...

Even after being elected the DP, the media and Wasaredo online team insisted that he was the worst leader there is. They'd misquote and ridicule him from Monday to Monday.

Then the DP put in place an effective communication team. And, within a year, they'd neutralized the anti-Rigathi choir.

They were so effective that the Kutoeleweka Choir that used to call the DP "aibu wa Rais" gave up and embarked on praising Riggy G from the rooftops.

We say "if you can't beat them, join them".

That's the power of effective communication.

No room for the opponent to tell your story.

And, when it comes to telling your own story, I must say the communication team ya President wameiva.

All the President's social media platforms are promptly updated and the livestreams are excellent in both audio and video.

Hapo wangwana mumecheza kama nyinyi!

In conclusion, don't let your opponent tell your story...otherwise the public will be told the alternative "truth" and it might be too late!

Greatminds Kenya is here to offer political leaders and aspirants communication strategies that will make them win...
