Kush vs Axum(Askum)
The man on the left is from the Axum empire, the man on the right is from the Kush empire. Both empires were referred to as Ethiopians which causes confusion for some people who aren't privy to the different cultures that dwelled in that region.

Proto Kushites have been around the Nile Valley since pre dynastic time 7,500 BCE. The kush kingdom is said to have officially established in 2400 BCE, making it one of the oldest empires in the region. Some kushite colonies had territory disputes with their Northern neighbors in Kemet (Egypt). They also served a mercenaries in the kemet army and police force. Kush culture was similar to Kemet and the gave reverence to the same deities. Kush also had battles with the Romans after the southern Europeans conquered and controlled kemet.

Axum would later go on to have battles with kush and went on to eventually defeat them and dismantle them completely in 300 CE. Early Auxumites worshipped Arabic and Greeks God's such as Mahrem. They would later on become the 1st African population to adopt Christianity thanks to a Lebanese man named Frumentius who had introduced to King Ezana this new religion.
