Lady Sara's life took an extraordinary turn when she was captured as a child during a slave raid and eventually brought to England.

In 1850, Captain Frederick E. Forbes of the British Royal Navy encountered Lady Sara in Lagos, Nigeria. Impressed by her intelligence and poise, he decided to present her as a gift to Queen Victoria. 

The Queen was taken by Lady Sara's charm and intellect, and she became a goddaughter of Queen Victoria and was given the name Sara Forbes Bonetta.

Lady Sara received an education in England and became well-known in British society. She married Captain James Pinson Labulo Davies, a wealthy Nigerian businessman, and together they had three children. 

Lady Sara used her position and influence to advocate for the abolition of slavery and the welfare of West Africa.

Unfortunately, Lady Sara's life was cut short at the age of 37 due to illness. However, her legacy lives on as a symbol of resilience and strength in the face of adversity. 

She serves as a reminder of the remarkable individuals who overcame the hardships of the past and made significant contributions to history.
