WANGU WA MAKERI. The Secret Love Affair With A Married Man That Made A Married Wangu Wa Makeri A Chief.

WANGU WA MAKERI

The Secret Love Affair With A Married Man That Made A Married Wangu Wa Makeri A Chief.

Wangu wa Makeri the most beautiful woman in the history of African women was was born around 1856 in Murang'a. She worked on her parent's farm as a labourer she met her husband, Makeri wa Mbogo and they got 6 children.

In 1902, She was granted the community chief's position by Paramount chief Karuri Wa Gakure his husband's friend she used to sleep with secretly, after her husband declined. This was meant to appease and silence him when he learnt of their relationship. Karuri had 60 wives. She was the only female chief in Kikuyu land during the colonial period.

Driven with power and dominance, she became a ruthless tax collector. She would also beat the weak Murang'a men and sit on their backs as they remained silent in submission while loudly shouting; 'Nìguo munene' (Yes boss).

Her fall was fast calling. Drunk with power, she received it. This is after she accompanied her secret lover paramount chief Karuri to Kibaata a dance only reserved for men. Naked, with only mūthuru on, she joined her bestie bestie to show the killer twerking moves she had been practicing privately.

When dancing provocatively kamatia chini and flowing with the vibe, the offended young men positioned her ceremonial sword in a way that would cut the threads patching her traditional skirt together. It fell to the ground revealing her well endowed nakedness, an abomination.

After such an insult to Kikuyu traditions, in a meeting held between 2nd - 4th June 1909 she was forced to resign giving men backs a chance to relax and actively engage in cooking for her husband using the clay pot as back then.

She died in 1936 aged 80 years.
