A post has been making the rounds on Facebook about Ramsey Nouah's acting skills.

A post has been making the rounds on Facebook about Ramsey Nouah's acting skills.

According to the author, the veteran actor didn't show versatility in his craft.
She also questioned his accent, saying Ramsey wasn't raised outside the country, so why did he portray himself as a Yankee dude?
She claimed his accent made the village movies he played seem unbelievable, that he was just good at the city lover boy characters.

It was a long critique aimed at proving that Ramsey wasn't all that.

First of all, folks like that need to understand that being a niche actor doesn't make one a bad actor.

How about the fact that they're experts in their lane?

Consider the legendary martial artist and actor, Jackie Chan.
He was obviously a niche actor, known for his mastery of kung fu, but he’s widely regarded as one of the greatest martial arts stars of all time.

His impact on the genre is his legacy, and it would be crazy to call him a bad actor just because he didn’t explore other genres.
The same applies to Ramsey.

Those lover boy roles that the critic was trying to make light of, let's not forget that at one point in time, not too many boys in the industry had a deep understanding of how to steal people's hearts from the screen.
And get your aunties w£t!

That was Ramsey - the biggest Nollywood heartthrob from the late 90s to the 2000s.

He didn't earn that status based on his looks alone. He had the skill set.

Of course, Ramsey had mesmerising lines at his finger tips (what y'all now call rizz).
In terms of articulation, he stood out in an era before the industry had fully matured.

Also, what the uninformed author called use of false accent is simply 'enunciation' - paying special attention to your pronunciation and diction. Which Ramsey always did.

So how's that a problem when the communication modes in those dramas was English?
Someone was setting the standard high and you count it as a flaw? Omase o.

Speaking of other roles, have you seen the movie '76'?

Boy, you'd think Ramsey was a trained soldier.
From the measured way he spoke, to the sharpness of his movements, he was so meticulous about every detail.
People went to the cinemas and cried their eyes out because of his and other's stellar performances.

Finally, versatility is a different skill.

Some actors are generalists, others are specialists in a certain genre, and their impact on that genre is immeasurable.
It doesn't make them a bad actor.

As for Ramsey, he played the hell out of those romance movies as if love itself was his muse, which is why he had and still has everyone on a chokehold as the ultimate lover boy!

Dear unknown critic hustling for monetization, quit trying to minimize a legend who has made his mark in history.
