Jasmine Guy (on the left) along with fellow classmates Andre Redding and Valerie Mack, when she was a senior at Northside Performing Arts High School in Atlanta, Georgia. Class of ‘79. They were voted "Most Talented". Jasmine Guy began her television career with a non-speaking role, as a dancer, in seven episodes of the 1982 television series Fame under the direction of choreographer Debbie Allen. She reunited with Debbie Allen when she took over the directing of A Different World where Jasmine played Whitley Gilbert. Today, she remains best known for her starring role as Whitley Gilbert. The show aired from 1987 to 1993 on NBC.
Ms. Guy made her film debut in Spike Lee's School Daze and Eddie Murphy's Harlem Nights. She has enjoyed a diverse career in film, television and theater.
