ITS VERY FUNNY SITING AND STAY SILENT WATCHING SOME YORUBA PEOPLE FAKING OR FORCING HISTORY ON ...

IS THIS THE REASON HISTORY WASN'T ALLOWED IN SCHOOLS??

Consider De Record

THE ORIGIN OF ADA AND EBEN:
BENIN OR YORUBA?

In this so-called civilized age, one is shocked to imagine what atrocities lie buried in the womb of nature and which may again hatch in the unknown future.

All the same, the invincible truth is ever intact to conquer error, however formidable this may seem at first sight." Truth and facts stir the conscience, enriches the consciousness of man and ennobles the human soul to free itself from shackles of ignorance and selfishness.

Before 1937, no Yoruba king was ever called "Oba", it was an exclusive title to the Omo N'Oba N'Edo, The Oba of Benin.

The Majestic disposition of Omo N'Oba N'Edo, Oba Akenzua 11, the Oba of Benin became an envy to the Yorubas kings, who, before then were called only by their titles as Alafin of Oyo, Ooni of Ifè, Alake of Abeokuta etc. Suddenly, the Yorubas kings started adopting the title "Oba" as an appendage to their existing traditional titles. Today, many Yoruba kings called themselves Oba.

Recently, the Ooni of Ifè attached to his staff, some newly fashioned tiny little metals designed in the like of the Benin Ada and Èben royal Insignia. The primary purpose of this act was to lord his title and throne over the Benin ancient title and throne. A clear case of historical identity theft.

It's very unfortunate, that some Yorubas have decided to continually twist the facts about Benin historical background to suit their whims and caprices. This can no longer be allowed to continue, for posterity sake.

The advent of Oduduwa (Ekaladerhan) into Ugbomokun (Ile-Ife) came at a period, when Ugbomokun experienced its most disturbing era. Fallacies, contradictions and inconsistences of the various theories propounded by Yoruba historians bordering on whether Oduduwa descended from heaven in a chain or migrated from Mecca is not correct.

Oduduwa ( Ekaladerhan) came into Ugbomomkun from the eastern parts of Ile-Ife, Oduduwa was completely out of tune with the socio-cultural, political and economic framework of Ugbomokun.

Oduduwa was a likeable man, who was soon given an abode to stay and he settled down to learn the culture and language of ancient Ile-Ife, called the Ikedu language. It is on record that it took Oduduwa 16 years to become fully proficient in the theatrics of the Ikedu language.

Oduduwa is not Yorubas eponymous father, as against the well-packaged myth, which seeks to present Oduduwa as the progenitor of the Yoruba people.

Only time will tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. But we must always establish the basic facts of history without any further distortion.
